My boring yet happy Saturday

Hi friends

Time really flies after 40.

Saturday morning always disappears at the speed of sound with house work – washing, hoovering, cleaning, you name it. As I work full time and sometimes do silly long hours, it is the only day I can do house work properly.

My day starts a cup of green tea as usual. Whilst drinking it, I start washing.

My colleague TW once told me that she does 12 drums of laundry every weekend. Incredible amount but I totally believe her. It is true that I do 2 drums to sort out laundries piled up in a week. I live alone whereas there are 6 people in her house. It can be easily 12 drums. She is a fantastic woman. She really does a lot and at high standard, such inspiration to me.

After washing, it is breakfast.

I always wear Buff when I do house work to sort out my long hair. Buff is just a textile tube made of stretchy material but it is so versatile. You can wear it like a cap, hair band, scarf… and this is mine. Funky, isn’t it?

I recommend this clever little thing to anyone but it has to be new Buff High UV Protection series. Off course they have plain colour ones or understated patterns but Buff must be funky! It is available on line such as Amazon. My next target is Kassi (orange one).

After cleaning, I did some revision. Not my favourite way of spending a weekend, but I must do it. There are 2 exams in May.

My good old mate AML dropped in my cottage and after lunch, we went for walk. We were wearing our favourite Buff around neck. He had my Buff influence, but refused to get funky one. Sensible? Nah, just being boring.

When we set off, it was drizzling. Look at the sky. This is the proper colour of English sky.

When I met AML, we were both in our twenties. So many things changed in our lives and I saw his darkest days and he did mine. One thing hasn't changed after those years is, we are still working in the automotive industry.

Whilst he keeps himself as tall gorgeous and handsome, I became old, fat and depressed….
I really have to do something about myself.

In less than 1 hour we started walking, it became much darker and colder. The rain was getting harder and the wind was howling. Look at the photo. Wuthering Heights had more civilization than this.

Too cold to walk, and this Heathcliff doesn’t know that his legs are far longer than my chubby ones. To annoy him, I started singing Diana Ross’ old song.

Now I have to let you go
There's no way we can be friends
But you're always part of me
Until we meet again

He got the message and we decided to call it a day. Phew....

He went home and I went for grocery shopping on my own.

This is my normal boring weekend, but I am much happier, and in fact, quite content with the way I live. I don’t think I need a lot or doing something spectacular to feel happiness.....

Wishing you relaxing time for the rest of the weekend, friends.
Thank you for reading. God bless you.
