Blue Sky, French Cheese Quest & People Watching

Hi friends

It was a busy day today with those domestic chores, but the weather was lovely.
Look at the sky. It is such an unusual colour. The sky is blue in England? ….Could be the reflection of wheely bins or something.

The air was crisp and bit frosty in the morning. Snow drops are still with us. It looks like the BBC weather man was right after all. We had the coldest March.

I don’t know why but I always get a craving for Mont d’Or this time of the year. It is said this smelly cheese only appears in the market from September to April but I have never found one in April in this country. French people must be keeping the last batches all to themselves.

Went to Waitrose but their soft cheese selection was surprisingly poor. Never mind. We have glorious Paxton and Whitfield in Stratford-upon-Avon. Hurrah! (a shop in the middle)

Much to my sorrow, I was touch late. I was told that the last Mont d’Or was sold before Good Friday. I now have to wait for 6 months.  Damn! x 3.

After finishing grocery shopping, I went to Bensons for lunch. (at the very end of this photo http://bensonsrestaurant.co.uk/

I got a little table at the corner from where I can see all tables. I must admit, I am such a nosey person and often do “people watching” when I am alone. There were a group of 4 ladies looking like in their 30s, a so-middle-class-looking lady in her late 40s, and a mother about my age & her teenage daughter.

Those 4 ladies dressed stylishly but the way they were eating! Not elegant at all. God save them all.

“Don’t move your head towards the food, move your cutlery to your mouth.”  Didn’t your grandmother tell you that at the Sunday dinner table?

Whilst the teenage daughter was piling up the crusts of her sandwich on the plate – another thing I don’t find it particularly elegant – the upper crust lady in her late 40s was eating her dinner so beautifully. Her head was not moving at all. Ladies, this is the elegance I so want to acquire.

When I was discreetly checking her beautiful manner, a very English looking gentleman – you know those endangered species, wearing a hat, groves, and a good quality long coat comes with a walking stick, perfect! - came to the tea room with an oriental girl. She must be a Thai, I could tell

Hummm. An English man in his 70s and a Thai girl. Wow, that is  so Juno’s cup of tea. Off course, I started my discreet observation.  Yes, I am hopelessly nosey! Tee hee hee.

This sugar daddy dressed immaculately in such an old English way, obviously did not teach his young companion how to dress in public.  Her thermal underwear was showing its presence rather boldly underneath her jumper and it looks like it was done on purpose. Do you remember teenagers used to show t-shirt under t-shirt? I think she meant it…..God save this girl as well.

My German friend once commented that this kind of companionship / relationship is really disgraceful and it creates the image of all Far Eastern ladies as gold diggers or even worse, prostitutes. I don’t share such an extreme view, as majority of us are better educated to know the truth. However, I am so not keen on the man who said to me in a patronising manner that young Oriental girls have a tendency to go for much older men. Sadly, this guy completely mixed up Chinese, Japanese, Koreans and Thais.

To sum up, God save us all……
