Hi friends
This article
is for the colour analysis instructor who told me to have more confidence in my
style.
My one week
wardrobe.
Monday
My director
has some principles at work and dress code is one of them. Male staff are expected to
wear a tie and a jacket when they see suppliers. I don’t wear a tie, off course,
but I wear a jacket whenever I have a meeting with my suppliers.
Tuesday
Yes, another
meeting with suppliers. When I am not carrying a big bag, I normally carry a
paper bag for my huge food supply. (I am snacking all the time.)
Wednesday
We had a big
departmental meeting at Hotel Hilton. Although she was not one of us, I saw a
lady wearing the same dress at the hotel. Catastrophic fashion faux pas. My kind colleagues
were assuring me that I look much nicer in this dress than her. But hey ho, it
is only £19.99. I am sure there are another 20 ladies wearing this. Never mind.
Thursday
This is a
sort of dress which looks ridiculous but when it is worn, it becomes such a
pretty thing. Had a coffee with my friend at work. As he was very complementary
about this dress before, I chose to wear this again. In the afternoon, I had to
go to the Birmingham airport to catch suppliers before they went back to Germany.
Oops, no jacket!
Friday
The colour
of this dress in the photo is nothing like the real one. It is deeper and darker. I got lots
of compliments on this. One of the manages at work said “you look rather
striking in this blue.” How very British of you! Rather striking - - I liked the phrase.
After work,
I dropped by the petrol station and when I was at the till, the young chap was
speaking to me. As I was thinking whether I should get a VAT receipt or
not (how sad is that!), I missed what he was saying and caught only his last
word. It was “lovely”.
I thought he
was talking about the weather as we certainly had some sunshine. So I said
“yeah, absolutely gorgeous, isn’t it?” As it was the nearest station from the
work, there were some colleagues queuing behind me. According to them, he was
talking about this dress. Oops. I am sure everyone thought I was a self-adoring
bonkers or some sort of shallow woman. Well, friends, I can’t entirely deny
that, can I? :-p
Saturday
Yeah, OK,
what was I wearing when I took the photo? I shall leave that question with
your imagination.
I must
admit, I got this brown t-shirt from Asda ages ago. I think it could be at least 8 years old or more. I simply love this t-shirt. It is surprisingly good quality from Asda.
These jeans are actually not full length, but calf length. I got them for £8
from New Look’s sale last year. Even though they are cheap, they are not bad,
are they?
Right, my
friends, as you see, I am still wearing lots of black. However, I started
wearing more colours without changing my style completely. Hope you will see
further improvements next time we meet up….
