Breakfasts

Hi friends,

Hope you are enjoying summer.

It has been great days with lots of sunshine, however, for hay fever sufferers, it was an ordeal and a long endurance game in stomach against anti-histamine.
In my case, it was against antibiotics as it caused asthma and I had to clear my chest to make my breathing easier. Oh dear.

I am determined to eat to keep my energy level though. As usual, I eat a lot from early morning and they are my breakfast from Sunday to Friday.

The Best Coffee Shop in Stratford-upon-Avon

Hi friends,

As you agree with me, Stratford-upon-Avon in weekends is definitely the No-Go Zone during summer holiday period. It is just way too packed with tourists for my liking.

However, it is the closest town from my place and I sometimes have things I cannot avoid to keep going, such as renewal of a tax disc and cashing-in cheques.

Anyway, putting so not exiting domestic chores aside, this can be a good reason to dare to be in Stratford in summer.
Divine cup of cappuccino in my favourite coffee shop. Although there are lots of cafés and restaurants in Stratford, I think this place offers the best coffee and most delicious cakes in the town and it seems like others agree with me.

This is the cake I adore.

All those beautiful cakes and scones are made by David who runs the place. It is a tiny café but the quality of the foods and service are superb and they are reasonably priced, too.

Friends, you know what I am doing for living and I think they are more than “value for money”.
And this is the heavenly Millionaires’ Shortbread, my favourite….what more can I say?

BMW i8

Hi friends,

Guess what I found in Munich last week.

BMW i8.

This is the German giant’s reputed electric vehicle and their first serious attempt of making car body in carbon fibre.

This is the rear fender. Shocking, isn’t it? I don’t think it is possible to make this in conventional metal such as steel and aluminium.

Although I do not approve a size of a gap between doors and fenders, it is still a sexy baby and so Futurama.

On that ground, it’s  a German job fabulously well done.

Summer Sale - Navyboot

My dear ladies, our favourite topic today – summer sale!

I herewith declare my victory. Hurrah!

Although they are from Swiss brand, they were actually made in Italy.
Damn the price. Italian cobblers certainly know what they are doing. People often comment that my hands are very thin. Just like them, my feet are quite thin as well. That is why I often find British shoes are too deep for my feet and I end up with pads around heels. However, they are just right depth and width. Although heels are lower than my liking, they are comfortable enough to wear at work. What a joy!

Breakfasts

Hi friends,

Whatever happens, I eat breakfast. That is my golden mantra.

Breakfasts on Tue, Wed, Thu and Fri.

Back to Inhalers

Hi friends,

After tricky 10 months without inhalers, I had a minor asthma attack last weekend. Damn!
Look at this. I feel like a proper junkie. Gosh, how very special indeed!

It is definitely not my intention to rely on orthodox medicine but I must admit it works quicker.

Well, this blog is supposed to be a regular report to tell you that I am still alive in the middle of nowhere. If not updated in weekend, I am either wondering in the wilderness of Swabia or simply being sick.

It was the latter case last weekend, but I am recovering now. Not great fan of steroid, but it works faster than antibiotics to clear my chest. I have two more days to take them. I should be OK by the end of this weekend.

Hope you are doing well.

Ratatouille

Hi friends,

I had been reading a book on Impression Training. It is about how you can improve your first impression, maintain yourself happy and lead you to your goals – nothing new, a typical self-coaching book.

I enjoyed reading it though. The author was a single mother who had redundancy soon after her divorce.  She was desperate to find work to raise her two children, so tried to register herself with an agency.

She visited one of those recruitment agencies and she was told to fill in the form on the screen in front of her but she had never used a PC before. When she asked a member of staff for help, she was told to ‘just click the box and fill in’.

She had no idea what “click” meant and left the agency quietly. Off course, she did not get any calls from that agency.

After that, she was employed by a hotel to clean the entrance area of the grand building every morning. She started greeting people even though they were not hotel guests. She kept greeting people with smile every day.

It is nothing new and her approach is pretty basic but I liked her way. It certainly worked and she started bringing people to the hotel. They started talking to her ‘well, I might use your restraint one day’, ‘we will book your hotel for our clients.’

After few years, she was promoted to a hospitality manager of the hotel and was appointed to be a chief to welcome the biggest guest the hotel had ever received, Dalai Lama.

Well, I thought I might have been missing or underestimating basic yet very important things in life in these days.

Anyway, my usual stuff. Breakfast and lunch. My lovely younger friend gave me a pack of vegetable stock. It was onion based and simply delicious. I made ratatouille with it.

Then, pizza with left over ratatouille.

Thank you for reading and wishing you a lovely weekend.
